Spring Events

CSA hosts a variety of fun social events during the spring where you can learn more about Chinese culture and meet new people! See some of our biggest events for the Spring quarter along with some of our past smaller events below.

Easter Eggstravaganza

Easter Eggstravaganza was an Easter themed event in Spring Quarter! This was a three part event in which we hosted a newspaper fashion competition, egg relay race, and Easter egg hunt.

The newspaper fashion competition’s winner was decided by the executive board. After, participants used spoons to hold an egg while running the relay. Finally, participants competed in an easter egg hunt with over a hundred eggs hidden!

Poly Cultural Weekend

PCW is an event hosted by Cal Poly’s Multicultural Center that aims to familiarize underrepresented minority groups with Cal Poly’s cultural community. You can learn more about PCW here.

During PCW, current students who are a part of certain cultural clubs get the opportunity to represent their clubs and host prospective students in their dorm rooms. For the rest of the weekend, the hosts accompany their hostees through a day of culture, fun, and bonding. It is a great way to show prospective students what CSA is all about and meet potential Littles.

Culture Clash

Culture Clash is a friendly competition between different cultural clubs, including TVSA, JSA, KASA, and PCE. We play various field games like charades, red light green light, and a unique relay race to end it all off. Each game awards a certain amount of points, and at the end, the winner with the most points receives a prize and bragging rights. Participating is a great way to show your pride for your cultural clubs, but also to meet new friends from not only CSA, but from other clubs too!

Senior Banquet

Senior Banquet is typically a formal dinner event with food catered by SLO’s local restaurants. During the banquet, a video is played with heartfelt messages from general members to their favorite seniors before they graduate. It is an emotional night where the seniors are appreciated for everything they do and given CSA stoles and memorabilia.

Due to Covid-19 concerns, the 2022 Senior Banquet was switched to a Senior Sunset at Santa Rosa Park. Picnic blankets were set up in front of a projector for seniors to watch a senior shoutout video along with photobooths and snacks.
