Winter Events

CSA hosts a variety of fun social events during the winter where you can learn more about Chinese culture and meet new people! See some of our biggest events for the Winter quarter along with some of our past smaller events below.

Chinese New Year Banquet

CSA's biggest event of the quarter is a banquet that commemorates the Lunar New Year and Chinese culture. It is organized and hosted entirely by CSA members and is open to anybody, including all Cal Poly students and community members.

The night features performances from CSA's own Lion Dance Team and Take Out Kidz dance group. We also showcase local performers and an annual play that is directed and performed by CSA members! Enjoy these performances while eating catered Chinese food and delicious treats from our event sponsor!

Winter Formal

 

Winter Formal is a fun night for members to get together with friends at a special venue off-campus! With great music, decorations, and a photo booth, the Winter Formal is a fun time for everyone to dance the night away and have a great time with good vibes. This year's Winter Formal will be hosted in collaboration with PCE! Images coming soon.

More Events

  • Scavenger Hunt

    CSA hosted a scavenger hunt where students went around campus solving clues and going to specific locations on campus!

  • Chinese Festival Games

    CSA hosted an event where members had the opportunity to try out a variety of different Chinese Festival games. Some of the games included shuttlecock, knot-tying, lantern making, and fortune sticks.

  • CSA Paints

    CSA hosted an event where members were given miniature easels and canvases. CSA then taught members how to paint a traditional Chinese mountain.

  • Tai Chi

    Tai Chi is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for health benefits, defense training, and relieving stress. It involves a series of gentle exercises and stretches. CSA hosted an event teaching some basic Tai Chi exercises.
